Reach Stacker

Course code: TLILIC0003

Course Introduction

This unit is based on the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work & involves the skills and knowledge required to operate a reach stacker, including checking the reach stacker condition, driving the reach stacker, monitoring site conditions and maintaining reach stacker performance.

Pre-requisite

All students studying nationally recognised training in Australia are required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Click here to find your USI

There are no entry requirements for this qualification; however it is recommended that students have sufficient literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the course.

Must be over 18 years to sit the test, however training can start at 17 years of age.

Course content

• Compliance with WHS licensing legislation.
• Communicate and work safely with others in the work area.
• Hazard identification and control.
• Conduct pre-start-up, operational, shut down and secure checks according to procedures.
• Operate the reach stacker truck and move loads safely, including driving and maneuvering, picking up and placing of loads at various stack heights.
• Calculations.

Duration / Flexibility

  • Duration: 3-5 hours of on-site training
  • The learners are put on a logbook to gain experience under the supervision of a forklift licence holder
  • When the learner is competent the assessment will be booked.
